Bathroom Remodel Orlando, FL

This bathroom in Orlando's Hourglass District came to us as a tub-to-shower conversion and turned into something much more involved. When we pulled the tub on this raised home we found the subfloor and the structure underneath had been failing for a long time. Everything beneath the bathroom had to be rebuilt before a single finish material could go in. That work is not glamorous and it does not show up in the photos, but it is what everything else is built on and it is not the kind of thing you skip.

Once the structure was right, the shower went in where the tub had been. Large format white rectangular tile covers the walls floor to ceiling in a clean stacked layout, and the shower floor is a mixed gray and white hexagon mosaic that adds texture without adding visual noise. A recessed niche sits built into the wall for storage, and a ceiling-mounted rain head in brushed nickel runs the show. A frameless sliding glass enclosure with brushed nickel hardware closes the shower without making the room feel smaller than it is.

The vanity was replaced with a deep navy shaker cabinet with brushed nickel hardware and a white quartz countertop with an undermount sink. An LED backlit mirror with touch controls handles the lighting at the vanity without needing a separate light bar above it. The floor tile throughout the bathroom is a charcoal and white geometric pattern that has some personality to it and ties the whole room together without being loud about it.

This is a bathroom that looks clean and finished and works exactly the way it should, and underneath all of it is a structure that will actually hold up. In a raised home with an older bathroom, that combination is worth more than it might sound.
