Primary Bathroom Expansion | Orlando, FL

This Orlando primary bathroom remodel started with a constraint that no amount of finish upgrades could solve. The space was simply too tight. The original layout forced the toilet and shower into a cramped corner, limiting both comfort and usability. Instead of working around it, we expanded the footprint and rethought the entire room.

By extending the bathroom approximately two feet into the adjacent bedroom, we gained around ten square feet. That small shift created the opportunity to completely redesign the layout. What was once a confined shower and toilet area became a full walk-in shower that is now more than double the original size, with a layout that feels open and intentional.

The window configuration played a major role in the transformation. The original design had two separate windows on the back wall that disrupted the flow of the space. We closed one entirely, modified the other, and completed the necessary masonry work to install a single centered picture window within the shower. That decision created a strong focal point and brought in natural light in a way that feels balanced and clean.

The material selections were kept simple but deliberate. Large format marble-look tile runs throughout the space, helping the room feel larger and more cohesive. The back wall of the shower features a vertical fluted tile that adds warmth and texture without overpowering the design. A hex mosaic floor was chosen for the shower to provide both visual interest and practical slip resistance.

The vanity was designed to complement the rest of the space without competing with it. A custom wood vanity with fluted detailing and integrated pulls adds depth and character, while the warm brushed brass fixtures tie the entire room together. Every element was selected to support the layout, not distract from it.

This project is a clear example of how the right plan can completely change a space. The improvement did not come from surface-level updates. It came from rethinking the structure, the layout, and how the room is used every day.
