Pool Bath Remodel Orlando, FL

This pool bath in Orlando's Conway area had the kind of before that is hard to believe once you see the after. Dark navy walls, a recessed soffit with builder can lights framing a large white-trimmed mirror, a white vanity cabinet with a granite countertop, and wood-look plank tile on the floor. The room was narrow and dim and felt like it had been decorated rather than designed. The client wanted something bright, clean, and personal, and that is exactly what this became.

Everything in the room was replaced. The walls were painted out to a clean soft white that immediately opened the space up, and the wood-look floor tile was pulled and replaced with a large format hexagon tile in a warm greige tone that gives the floor some texture and character without introducing another competing color. The soffit and its dated recessed lighting came out, and the ceiling was smoothed and refinished clean.

The vanity is a navy fluted single cabinet with brushed gold bar pulls and legs, topped with a marble countertop and an undermount sink. A brushed gold widespread faucet sits at the sink, and an arched gold-framed mirror hangs above it with a brushed gold wall sconce providing warm task lighting. The combination of the navy cabinet against the white walls and the warm gold fixtures gives the room a finished quality that punches well above what the square footage would suggest.

Two floating wood shelves are mounted in the corner beside the toilet, giving the room open display and storage without taking up any floor space. They are simple and warm and the right scale for a bathroom this size. A new toilet completes the scope.

This is a pool bath, which means it gets traffic, it gets wet, and it gets used hard. Everything chosen for this room was selected with that in mind, and it looks just as good in real life as it does in the photos.
